Weight Comparison

Where each quality sits

Fabric weight decides how a garment hangs and how long it holds its shape. The range runs from 210 to 280 GSM.

Fabric Samples

Judge the cloth by hand, not on a screen.

No photograph shows how a fabric falls, how it takes a press, or how a shade reads in daylight. Request samples of our trouser and formal pant fabric and you receive a swatch of each quality you name, so you can compare 210 GSM against 280 GSM in your own hand before committing to a wholesale order.

Buyer Questions

Trouser fabric — the questions we get asked

MOQ, GSM, samples, shades and rates — answered plainly, before you call.

What is the minimum order quantity for trouser fabric?

We supply roll-wise. Roll sizes in the current range are 50 metres and 60–65 yards. Ordering full rolls keeps the shade consistent across a cutting lot. Tell us your requirement on WhatsApp and we will confirm what is possible.

What is the difference between the weights?

The range runs from 210 GSM to 280 GSM. Lighter cloth is softer and drapes more; heavier cloth has more body and holds a firmer line. Which one suits your garment is your call — ask for swatches and judge by hand.

Do you send fabric samples before an order?

Yes. Tell us the qualities you want to check and we will send swatches so you can judge handle, weight and shade yourself before committing to an order.

Is your fabric stretchable?

Some of it. Barbie, Mercury and Florida carry comfort stretch from a small percentage of spandex. Vitara are non-stretch. The composition is listed on every quality page.

How many colours are available?

Barbie, Mercury and Florida run to a wide shade range — the exact count is listed on each quality page. Ask us for the current shade card on WhatsApp, as available shades change with the season.

What are your rates per metre?

Rates are shared on enquiry, because they move with quantity and current import cost. Send the quality name and your monthly requirement and we will come back with a rate.

Do you supply outside Ahmedabad?

Yes. Goods are dispatched from our New Cloth Market office in Ahmedabad to buyers across India, with transport details shared at the time of despatch.

Are you a manufacturer or a trader?

We are a fabric trading firm — not a mill, and not a direct importer. We buy imported fabric and supply it from our Ahmedabad office. Current availability is confirmed when you enquire.

Fabric Terms

Reading a fabric specification

The terms that appear on every quote in the trouser fabric trade, in plain English.

GSM

Grams per square metre — the standard measure of fabric weight. A 210 GSM cloth is lighter and drapes more; a 280 GSM cloth is heavier and holds a firmer line. Every quality lists its GSM range.

Bottom-weight fabric

Trade term for the heavier fabrics used for trousers and pants, as opposed to the lighter top-weight fabrics used for shirting.

Poly lycra / poly spandex

Polyester woven with a small percentage of spandex — usually 5% — to give comfort stretch and shape recovery.

Roll-wise supply

Buying full rolls rather than cut lengths. It costs a little more upfront but keeps the shade consistent across a whole cutting lot.

Width

The usable width of the cloth on the roll, quoted in inches. Most per-piece consumption figures assume 56–58 inch.
